Celebrate the giving season with this fun, family-friendly event to raise awareness and funds for many wonderful and interesting charities supported by the Brown and Oak Hill communities.
Bring a favorite dish and a donation (any amount), and find out how our students, families and faculty are making a difference! You will have a great meal, hear inspiring presentations from the five finalist organizations, and have a chance to vote for your favorites by “donating” pennies.
The Giving Project Potluck Dinner
Thursday, May 3, 6-8pm
All the funds raised through donations will be divided between the five organizations according to the number of pennies each organization receives. Bring your family or a friend – or both. Don’t miss this special middle school event!
Join us for a fun afternoon (2pm-4pm) of beautifying the grounds at Oak Hill Middle School! We will be spreading mulch, cleaning and weeding gardens, and planting flowers to guide Oak Hill’s grounds into a beautiful springtime. Please bring gardening tools (rakes, shovels, buckets and gloves), if you have. Thank you!
This activity is part of the NewtonServes Community event, please sign up here: http://www.newtoncommunitypride.org/NewtonSERVES-volunteer.php
The Giving Project is a special community event that brings families from Brown and Oak Hill together over a delicious meal while raising awareness and funds for some of the many charities supported by our students and faculty.
Students and faculty are invited to nominate a favorite non-profit organization, along with a brief summary of why they support it. Nominations are due Monday April 9. Click here for online form to submit your nomination.
The nominations are then shared with both the Brown and Oak Hill communities, and 5 charitable organizations are selected to be showcased at our fundraising community potluck dinner on Thursday, May 3, 6-8 pm (at Brown Middle School). The funds raised at the dinner are then shared among the 5 charities. We can’t wait to hear about the charity or cause that inspires you! The potluck dinner volunteer sign-up coming soon!
Are you an Oak Hill parent? Are you interested in meeting other Oak Hill Parents? Then join us on March 8th!
Come join us on Thursday, March 8th at 7:00 PM for a fun night at Union Street restaurant in Newton Center. Mingle with other Oak Hill parents, eat, drink and win prizes!
It’s not always easy to meet other parents once the kids get to middle school. So come mingle with us and get to know your middle school community!
(A portion of all ticket sales will help support the Oak Hill PTO Spring Arts & Sciences Enrichment programs.)
We Love Our Teachers and Staff
This Wednesday we are showing our heartfelt appreciation to all the Oak Hill teachers and staff by providing some sweet treats in the faculty room.
For decorating the room, we would love to have some valentines from students and families. What a fun way to share your care and appreciation. You can make an old fashioned valentine or write a thoughtful note or poem on the computer to a specific educator or a general subject. You can sign your name or be anonymous. A box to collect the valentines will be left on the table in front of the office on Wednesday.
Please feel free to send in any sweet treats on Wednesday morning. -The PTO
