Calling All String-A-Mania Parents! String-A-Mania is happening this Monday, June 4, starting at 7PM at the Brown Middle School. We are looking for volunteers to help with “crowd control” from about 6:30 pm til the end of the concert. This involves looking after the students when they are not performing and helping keep them from getting too loud. If you can spare some time when your child is not performing, we need you! Concerts are at 7:30PM. Performers need to report by 7PM. Concert Dress is required for all performers.
Once again, the Music@OakHill committee of the PTO will be selling refreshments and is looking for volunteers to help with set-up, selling, or clean-up. It’s easy, fun work: Everything will be sold for $1! So far, the money raised by Music@OakHill has purchased filing boxes for the music room, small percussion instruments, a tabletop copier with supplies for the band room, and two cellos for our string orchestra. The Brown/Oak Hill String Orchestra Concert will be Tuesday, Nov. 30, at 7:30PM at Brown MS Auditorium, with performers from grades 6, 7, and 8.
The Oak Hill Winter Concert will be held on Thursday, Dec. 9 at 7:30PM in the Oak Hill Auditorium, with the Grade 6 Band and Chorus as well as the Grade 7/8 Band and Chorus. The auditorium will open for seating at 7:15PM.
For both concerts: Performers should arrive by 7PM to warm up and wear “concert dress” (white tops and dark bottoms, plus neckties for the guys!). The concerts will each be about an hour. We invite you to stay for the entire concert to demonstrate support and appreciation for the diligent effort of our students and teachers.
At the Oak Hill Winter concert, Music@Oak Hill will once again be selling refreshments — snacks and treats for $1 each — to support music activities at the school. The Oak Hill Book Fair will also be open; please plan on stopping by either before or after the concert.
We need more parents to help! Sell refreshments, sell books at the book fair, or supervise off-stage performers in the cafeteria. Please send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help in any of those ways!
